Canal Boat and Trolley Tour
Join us for the newest history tour LaSalle County has to offer. Start off with a delicious Soup & Salad Bar Lunch in the rustic dining room at Starved Rock Lodge. After lunch, one of our trolleys will take you to our State Park's Visitor Center. Next, your trolley will take you to board a relaxing ride on the New Canal Boat located at Lock 14 in LaSalle. Step back in time with period-dressed interpreters on this 1-hour canal boat ride. Finish the tour with a final stop at the Lock 16 Visitor Center. Trolley Fall Colors Tour
Enjoy Starved Rock during the most beautiful time of the year. Fall Fireside Stories
Saturday evenings in October join Trish Kelly around the fire pit on our Pool Patio as she shares Irish Tales, animal related stories and a ghost story or two. It's free and suited for all ages. Popcorn and beverages available. Please bring your own chairs and blankets.

Oktoberfest
Come to Starved Rock Lodge to celebrate October German style on the Veranda. The beauty of fall on our Veranda will be mixed with the flavor of ten seasonal beers. WOODCARVER'S DEMO LIVE!!
See chainsaw artists Luke Harris and Don Johnson in action as they turn dead trees into works of art. A live woodcarving demonstration will take place Friday & Saturday east of the Lodge. See the largest collection of chainsaw art in Illinois. Our "Art in the Park" exhibit is FREE, stroller & wheelchair friendly, too.

All About Ghosts Tour

Firearm dates for deer hunting season are as follows: November 21-23, 2008; December 4-7, 2008; December 12-14, 2008; January 16-18, 2009. During these dates, the following closures will be in affect: All of Matthiessen State Park will be closed. Starved Rock State Park trails from Wildcat Canyon to the east end of the park will be closed. Starved Rock Nature Preserve will also be completely closed. Hiking trails in Starved Rock from St. Louis Canyon to Wildcat Canyon will be open for hiking. Starved Rock campground will be closed. Starved Rock Lodge and Visitor Center will remain open.
